Elsa Duré
Chief Operating Officer
Elsa Duré is the Chief Operating Officer at Education Leaders of Color (EdLoC). In this role, Elsa oversees internal operating capabilities and executes strategic initiatives to optimize day-to-day functions and support the organization’s long-term vision.
Prior to joining the EdLoC team, Elsa worked at Chiefs for Change where she executed a multi-year fundraising plan and spearheaded diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the organization as the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development. Prior to Chiefs for Change, she was the deputy director at the Diverse Charter Schools Coalition (DCSC), an organization that catalyzes the creation and expansion of high-quality diverse-by-design public charter schools across the country. Elsa led strategic initiatives and internal operations at DCSC.
Elsa previously served as CEO of Rhode Island Mayoral Academies (RIMA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the transformation of K-12 education and dramatically increasing high-quality educational opportunities for Rhode Island students. Elsa also held the roles of chief of policy and expansion and director of policy at RIMA. Before joining RIMA, Elsa was a research associate at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, where she implemented, managed, and documented research projects at the local and regional levels.
Elsa holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s degree in urban education policy from Brown University. She is a 2015 Pahara NextGen Leader. Elsa lives in Baltimore City, MD with her partner Jason, mom, and two dogs.
